Carver County Jail Mugshots Overview
The inspected Carver County public roster does not display mugshots. Its front table shows name, age, booking date and time, release date and time, custody status, bail, and next court date. The Arrest Details modal adds address and a Case Details table with arresting agency, charges, and status. The public CSV feed did not include a booking-photo URL or image field.
That does not mean no booking photograph exists. Minnesota law treats a booking photograph as a law-enforcement identification photo taken in connection with an arrest. The public-access question is different from the online-publication question. Carver County may maintain booking photos even though the public roster interface inspected for this project did not publish them.

Start with the official Carver County Jail Roster because it supplies the identifying details needed for a later records request. Name, booking date, custody status, arresting agency, charge, and next court date can help the Sheriff Records Unit locate the right booking. The roster is also the best way to avoid requesting a photo for the wrong person with a similar name.
The official roster screenshot below shows the table where Carver County booking and custody details appear, even though the inspected interface did not show mugshot images.
When no booking photo appears online, the roster still gives the facts needed to ask for the photo through a public-data request.

- Check whether the public record is current custody or a release within the 90-day roster window.
- Contact the Sheriff Records Unit if a booking photograph is needed and not posted online.

What Carver County Records Show

That distinction is important because a person searching for Carver County jail mugshots may still find enough public custody data to confirm an arrest. The public interface does not show every detention field, and it does not show the physical-description details often found in other booking systems.

Are Carver County Mugshots Public?
Under Minnesota law, booking photographs are generally public data, but the law allows temporary withholding when release would adversely affect an active investigation. Corrections and detention data also has privacy and confidentiality limits for medical, psychological, financial, institutional-security, and safety-sensitive information. A public booking photo can be available even when the jail does not publish that photo on the public roster.

Minn. Stat. Section 13.82, subdivision 26 defines booking photographs as public data unless a temporary active-investigation limit applies.
Minn. Stat. Section 13.85 protects certain corrections and detention data, including sensitive medical, safety, investigation, and security information.
Roster Time Limits and Photos
Carver County states that the jail roster includes current inmates and inmates released within the past 90 days. The inspected roster did not publish mugshots, so the 90-day roster window should not be read as a photo-publication schedule. It is a public custody and recent-release record window. Older booking-photo requests may still need the Sheriff Records Unit, and the response can depend on whether the record exists, whether it is public, and whether an investigative or detention-data limit applies.

Request a Carver County Booking Photo
The Sheriff Records Unit is the practical request channel for a booking photo that is not posted online. The county states that public data requests for sheriff records can be made by email, phone, or walk-up. Email requests should include the county data request form, and fees are listed on that form. A focused request is more useful than a broad one. Include the person's full name as shown on the roster, booking date and time, arresting agency, custody status, and charge. Ask specifically for the booking photograph or public booking photo connected to that booking. If release is denied or delayed because of an active investigation, ask for the statutory basis and whether the photo may be available later.
Mugshot Removal and Expungement
No official Carver County page was located promising removal of roster booking data or booking photos after dismissal, acquittal, or expungement. Minnesota expungement and sealing under Minn. Stat. Chapter 609A may restrict some criminal-history and court-record access, but it should not be treated as an automatic photo-removal promise. A person with a sealed or expunged case should use the court and BCA process tied to the record rather than relying on the jail roster alone.
Commercial mugshot publishing and paid-removal sites are not official records channels. The official route for Carver County booking photo questions is the sheriff records process, the court record when sealing is involved, and the agency that actually holds the record.
State and Federal Mugshot Limits
The MNDOC Locator is for sentenced state-prison custody, not Carver County jail booking photos. It can help when a person has left the county jail and entered Minnesota Department of Corrections custody. Federal agencies are different again. BOP locators generally do not publish mugshots, and U.S. Marshals pretrial custody may not appear in the BOP locator before federal designation.
ICE custody is also separate from Carver County's roster after transfer. If a person was first arrested locally, the Carver County roster may show the local booking or release/transfer history during the 90-day window.
