Carver County Jail Roster Overview
The Carver County Sheriff's Office maintains the public roster for Carver County Jail. The county's Daily Inmate Roster page says the roster includes individuals currently in custody and inmates released within the past 90 days. It also states that the roster updates at two-hour intervals throughout the day and night. A new booking may not appear until intake is complete and a booking number has been assigned.
The roster is an official HTML table backed by a public CSV feed. It is free, requires no login, and can be filtered by name, age, address, or custody status. It is not the correct system for every inmate record. Sentenced state prisoners from Carver County should be searched through the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Federal sentenced prisoners belong in the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, and immigration detainees belong in ICE's Online Detainee Locator System after transfer.

The roster is best for a person recently arrested, still waiting for court, held on a warrant, serving a short local jail sentence, or released in the last 90 days. The roster layout is useful for broad searches because it filters as text is entered, but the two-hour update schedule and intake lag still matter for new arrests.

Carver County Inmate Profile Fields
Clicking a name opens an Arrest Details modal. The public profile repeats the custody summary and then shows charge-level case details. A person with several charges can have several charge rows in the source data but one public booking record in the table. This is why the total charge-row count can be higher than the number of unique inmate records.

Carver County Jail vs MNDOC
Carver County inmate records split when a case moves from local custody to state corrections. The county roster covers the jail stage: arrest, warrant pickup, pretrial custody, short local sentence, and recent release. The MNDOC Locator covers adults committed to the Commissioner of Corrections. A newly sentenced person may take several business days to show in the MNDOC system after transfer.

Carver County Jail Facility
Carver County Jail is the only detention facility in Carver County that requires a facility page from the official facility map. It is operated by the Carver County Sheriff's Office at the sheriff and jail complex in Chaska. The 2024 Minnesota DOC inspection lists it as a secure coed local adult detention facility with 115 approved beds and 103.50 operational capacity.

Booking Process in Carver County
Carver County's roster warning gives the key timing rule: a person may not appear until intake is complete and a booking number is assigned. Intake can include transport to Carver County Jail, custody acceptance, search, property inventory, identification, booking record creation, medical or mental-health screening, classification, phone access after booking, and housing assignment. Classification means jail staff place a person based on conduct, risk, and operational needs.
The public roster is a custody record, not the final court case. The arresting agency's booking charge can differ from charges later filed by the Carver County Attorney in District Court. The official phone page says each inmate has access to a telephone after completing booking, and private-use telephones are located in each housing area. Carver County uses NCIC Inmate Communications for phone, video, and messaging services. Incoming calls are not allowed. The records reviewed did not locate a detailed official mail policy, so mail, books, property, photos, and money-order questions should be confirmed with jail staff before anything is sent.

Request Carver County Jail Records
When a needed inmate record is not online, the Sheriff Records Unit is the local public-data channel. The county says public data requests for accident reports, police reports, 911 call transcripts, and other sheriff data can be made by email, phone, or walk-up. Email requests should include the county data request form, and fees are listed on that form. Use identifying details from the roster, such as full name, booking date and time, arresting agency, and charge.
